According to reports, a terrorist group abducted at least fifty-five people while they were carrying a bride through Damari town in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Though formal confirmation from security officials is still pending, a local informed newsmen on Friday that the event happened on Thursday at about 8:00 p.m.
He added that three security volunteers however lost their lives in an effort to rescue the victims.
“Before the hoodlums attacked the victims on a canter vehicle, the victims were initially over 70 mostly friends to the bride in which several others escaped”, he added.
Sabuwa, apart from being an agrarian area, also remains one of the security front line LGAs grappling with the activities of bandits and their collaborators, mostly informants to bandits.
