Ayra Starr Enters New Era With Third Album ‘Starr Girl’

Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, professionally known as Ayra Starr, has released her third studio album, “Starr Girl,” expanding her catalogue with a 16-track project featuring some of Africa’s biggest music acts.

The album brings together Ayra Starr’s distinctive Afrobeats sound with collaborations from Nigerian stars Wizkid and Rema, as well as international artistes.

Wizkid appears on “Gimme Dat,” while Rema features on “Who’s Dat Girl.”

Other confirmed guest appearances include Kwn on “Amazing,” Theodora on “Ms. Paper” and Leon Thomas on “Pressure.”

The project also contains previously released tracks, including “Tornado,” “Hot Body” and “Where Do We Go.” Other songs on the album include “Letter To God” and “Misunderstood.”

A new chapter for Ayra Starr

“Starr Girl” marks another stage in the singer’s rapid rise since emerging as one of the prominent voices of Nigeria’s new generation of Afrobeats artistes.

The album follows her 2021 debut, “19 & Dangerous,” and her 2024 sophomore project, “The Year I Turned 21.”

Her growing international profile has been driven in part by the success of songs such as “Rush” and “Commas,” which helped establish her presence beyond Nigeria.

With “Starr Girl,” Ayra Starr continues to build on that momentum, combining established collaborators with newer international voices as she broadens the scope of her music.

The release further positions the singer within the expanding global Afrobeats movement while marking the latest chapter in her evolution as an artiste.
