Ashmusy Breaks Silence on Phyna Fallout, Says Backlash Made Her Consider Quitting Social Media

Content creator and actress Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent fallout with reality TV star Phyna.

In a lengthy statement shared on social media, Ashmusy said she was saddened by the situation and expressed frustration over what she described as years of being misunderstood by the public.

The actress said she had deliberately avoided controversy throughout the year, choosing instead to concentrate on her personal life, filmmaking and content creation.

“I rebranded and made a conscious decision to stay away from trouble, drama and unnecessary noise. I’ve genuinely done my best to stay out of the news, both good and bad, and just focus on my life, my films and my content,” she wrote.

Ashmusy said she had also reflected on her role in situations that had attracted criticism, taking responsibility for what she described as “over trusting.”

She acknowledged that she was still learning and growing, but said the backlash surrounding her dispute with Phyna had taken an emotional toll.

According to the actress, the intensity of the criticism made her consider stepping away from social media permanently.

She also questioned the level of hostility often displayed on social media, saying she found the toxicity difficult to understand.

Ashmusy said she had reached a point where she was no longer interested in convincing people to see her differently.

She urged people to form their own opinions while making it clear that she intended to prioritise her peace.

“Moving forward, if I’m still here, please don’t involve me in anything that carries drama or misunderstandings. I don’t care what I stand to lose. I genuinely just want peace,” she said.

The content creator also apologised to anyone she may have offended, whether directly or indirectly, and expressed gratitude to those who continued to support her during the controversy.

Her statement follows a public dispute with Phyna, who accused Ashmusy of trying to edge her out of a deal connected to a celebrity boxing event.
