APC Sets Timeline for 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, outlining key dates and procedures for aspirants and party members.

The timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, was published on the APC’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday. According to the document, the process commenced with the issuance of a “Notice of Election to the State Chapter” on Friday, July 25, 2025.

This was followed by the “Update of Membership Register,” which began on Monday, July 28, and will conclude on Friday, August 15, 2025. The party emphasized that only registered members who are up to date with their membership dues will be eligible to vote or contest in the primaries.

The sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms is scheduled to run from Monday, August 18 to Monday, September 2, 2025. The deadline for submitting completed forms, including accompanying documents and delegate forms, is Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Screening of governorship aspirants will take place from Tuesday, September 23 to Wednesday, September 24, with the results to be published on Friday, September 25. Appeals related to the screening process must be filed by Saturday, September 26.

The Delegates Congress is slated for Thursday, October 2, followed by the Congress Appeal on Friday, October 3.

The party’s primary election will be conducted on Monday, October 27, 2025, with appeals arising from the primary scheduled for Wednesday, October 29 and Thursday, October 30.
