Antar Laniyan Says He Would Walk Away From Friends Criticising Tinubu

Veteran Nollywood actor Antar Laniyan has said he would leave a gathering if a friend began criticising President Bola Tinubu, insisting that he would not engage in such discussions even if he disagreed with the President on personal matters.
Laniyan made the statement during an appearance on the African A-List podcast, where he explained that he preferred to avoid political disagreements while spending time with friends.
The actor said he would not feel obliged to share a friend’s views about Tinubu and would rather walk away than allow the conversation to continue.
“If you are my friend and while we are together, you talk against President Bola Tinubu, I will walk away because he has not been what you’re saying to me. I don’t have to support you,” he said.
Laniyan added that his decision would remain the same even if he personally had grievances against the President.
“Even if he does it to me, I will not engage in the conversation, I will still walk away,” he stated.
Laniyan’s comments follow Kosoko’s defence of Tinubu
The actor’s remarks come amid similar public commentary from fellow Nollywood veteran Jide Kosoko, who recently defended Tinubu’s administration over Nigeria’s economic difficulties.
Kosoko argued that the country’s current challenges should not be attributed solely to the incumbent government, saying previous administrations had failed to adequately plan for the country’s growing population.
Both actors have weighed in on public discussions about the President and the country’s political and economic situation, although they have expressed their views in different contexts.
