“ADC Is Not for Sale” — Youth Wing Warns Against Political Hijack

Party youth leaders reject opportunistic defections, insist on integrity, transparency in any coalition talks.

The Youth Wing of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong warning to political elites attempting to hijack the party’s platform, declaring firmly that “ADC is not for sale.”

In a statement released Friday and endorsed by State Youth Leaders, Women Leaders, Secretaries, and grassroots members across the country, the group raised alarm over an influx of politicians they described as “political migrants” seeking to exploit the party’s credibility for personal gain.

The statement, signed by ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Musa Matara, emphasized that while the party remains open to genuine alliances, any coalition must be rooted in transparency, collective consultation, and shared values.

“Any coalition must involve consultations with the entire party structure — from State Executives to Local Government Leaders, Youth and Women Wings, and grassroots coordinators,” the statement read. “So far, no such consultations have taken place to justify recent claims of mass leadership resignations or structural realignments.”

The Youth Wing underscored the ADC’s core values of integrity, credibility, and service, noting that the party cannot be rebranded or hijacked by opportunists.

“ADC is not a political shelter for those hopping from one party to another chasing power. Our structures are deeply entrenched from the national to polling unit levels. We reject money-driven politics and stand firm on the principles that built this party,” the group said.

Calling on Nigerian youths, women, persons with disabilities, and all patriotic citizens, the statement urged them to rally behind the ADC’s mission to drive national transformation.

“To the new entrants and political migrants: you are only welcome if you share our values. ADC is not just a political party — it is a movement for justice, liberation, and development,” the statement concluded.

The declaration comes as opposition coalitions gain momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, sparking debates over party integrity, leadership loyalty, and the future of credible alternatives in Nigeria’s political landscape.
