NNPC GCEO Reaffirms Commitment to Strategic Collaboration with Stakeholders

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd),  Bayo Ojulari, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships across key sectors in a bid to fulfil the critical mandates entrusted to the corporation by President Bola Tinubu.

Ojulari made the commitment during a courtesy visit to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, held on Wednesday. The meeting signaled a shared vision for progress in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, with both parties aligning on the need for improved coordination, transparency, and performance.

With a focus on breaking down bureaucratic bottlenecks and enhancing operational efficiency, the new NNPC leadership has prioritized synergy with relevant ministries and agencies including the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Ministry of Finance as a means of accelerating results and delivering national value. Ojulari, who recently assumed office, underscored that his leadership approach would be grounded in collaboration rather than confrontation.

The NNPC boss stressed that sustainable growth in the energy sector would require unified efforts from all stakeholders, particularly at a time when Nigeria is seeking to ramp up crude oil production and unlock the full potential of its petroleum resources.

In response, Minister Lokpobiri expressed confidence in the capabilities of the newly appointed executive team, describing it as one of the most experienced and professionally competent in the company’s history. He noted that the expectations are high, particularly in terms of improving national oil output and ensuring the sector contributes maximally to Nigeria’s economic stability.

The minister also pledged full support from his office, committing to provide strategic oversight and an enabling policy environment to ensure that NNPC Ltd. can operate efficiently and deliver on its ambitious goals.

A statement issued by NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, described the engagement as a turning point that marks a new era of purposeful partnership in the industry. The company noted that the renewed relationship is expected to drive operational excellence and contribute significantly to national development.

With this realignment of leadership and purpose, NNPC Ltd. is positioning itself as a key driver of Nigeria’s economic transformation, leveraging collaboration to unlock opportunities across the petroleum value chain.
