Senator Abdul Hamid Malamadori, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, has declared unwavering support for Governor Umar Namadi’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that the Jigawa State governor will secure a second term with ease in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the Citizens and Government Engagement Programme in Birniwa Local Government Area, the senator, who represents Jigawa North East, emphatically stated that “there is no vacancy in the Jigawa Government House come 2027.”
“Governor Namadi has already earned his second term,” Malamadori said, citing the administration’s strides in human development, education, and economic reforms as major achievements that guarantee continuity.
He praised Namadi’s focus on agricultural growth and empowerment initiatives targeting youths and women, which he said have significantly impacted lives across the state. “Today, agricultural growth is thriving in Jigawa, and youth and women empowerment has become a central focus of his government,” the senator noted.
Despite these accomplishments, Malamadori said the governor has remained humble and committed, continuously working to touch areas that still require development. “Rather than rest on his laurels, he’s focused on reaching more communities,” he added.
The senator cautioned politicians within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other parties against entertaining ambitions of contesting the governorship seat in 2027, describing such plans as a “waste of time.”
“I advise every politician in this state to rally behind Governor Namadi and support his re-election. The governor is doing very well, and challenging him would be an exercise in futility,” he said.
Malamadori further described Governor Namadi’s leadership as pivotal to transforming Jigawa into a “mega agrarian state,” stressing the need for continuity to consolidate the gains made so far.
