FA Rejects Arsenal Appeal Over Dowman’s Three-Match Ban

Arsenal have failed to overturn teenage midfielder Max Dowman’s red card and three-match suspension after the Football Association rejected the club’s appeal.

The club announced the decision on its website on Thursday, quoting the FA as confirming that an independent Regulatory Commission had dismissed its claims of wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment.

Dowman was sent off during Arsenal’s EFL Cup clash with Fleetwood Town on Tuesday, October 27.

“An independent Regulatory Commission has dismissed claims of both wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment for Max Dowman.

“The Arsenal player was sent off during their EFL Cup game against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday 27 October and will be suspended for three matches,” the FA statement read.

The FA added that the commission’s written explanation for its decision would be published in due course.

Dowman will consequently miss three domestic fixtures against Liverpool, Hull and Newcastle.

Arsenal have yet to announce any further response to the ruling.
