Toluwanisings’ Widow Breaks Down at Tribute Night, Pleads With Late Husband Not to Forget Family

Elizabeth Olayemi, widow of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, fought back tears as she paid tribute to her husband, appealing to him not to forget her and their children.

The emotional moment occurred on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2026, during the singer’s tribute night and service of songs in Ibadan, Oyo State. The event attracted several prominent artistes.

Addressing her late husband, Elizabeth said she would continue to miss him while expressing concern for the children they left behind.

“Toluwanisings my dear husband, I will forever miss you. Please don’t forget your children and me,” she said.

Her emotional appeal came amid an ongoing disagreement between her and her late husband’s family over where he should be buried.

Disagreement over burial arrangements

Reports circulating online indicate that Elizabeth opposed proposals to bury the singer at the family home in Ibadan, reportedly expressing a preference for a cemetery burial.

The disagreement has drawn public attention, with discussions surrounding the family’s plans for the late musician’s final resting place.

The controversy has also prompted reactions from public figures, including Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, who recently criticised bloggers for interviewing members of the bereaved family and urged them to respect their privacy.

Toluwanisings died on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing in Ibadan. Members of his family have called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

As preparations for his burial continue, Elizabeth’s emotional tribute has offered a glimpse into the personal grief behind the public dispute.
