Elam, Three Others Earn FIVB Level II Coaching Certificates

Nigeria women’s volleyball head coach Elishama Elam and three other tacticians have obtained Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Level II coaching certificates after passing promotional examinations in The Gambia.

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation’s Vice President, Prince Tunde Omisore, announced the achievement in a statement on Sunday.

The other successful coaches are men’s team coach Taiwo Oladipupo, Ayokunnu Aboderin and Dauda Saje, who also represents players on the federation’s board. Saje emerged as the overall best candidate in the examinations.

Omisore described the development as a boost to Nigeria’s technical capacity ahead of upcoming international competitions.

“This is a plus for Nigeria’s technical crew, as four coaches are now FIVB Level II certified,” Omisore said. “The knowledge acquired by these coaches will strengthen the technical department and assist Technical Adviser Ryan Masajedi in discharging his duties effectively.”

The federation said the coaches would help prepare the senior men’s and women’s teams for the 2027 African Games in Egypt, where Nigeria hopes to secure podium finishes in both categories.
