Super Falcons Celebrate WAFCON Final Berth After Dramatic Win Over South Africa

The Super Falcons of Nigeria transformed their dressing room into a lively celebration zone on Tuesday night after securing a thrilling 2-1 victory over South Africa in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) semi-final clash in Morocco.
The hard-fought win over their long-time rivals, Banyana Banyana, booked Nigeria a place in Saturday’s final, where they will face host nation Morocco.
Social media footage captured the jubilant scenes as the Nigerian players danced and rejoiced over the crucial triumph against the South African side, who had confidently claimed pre-match that they possessed the formula to beat the nine-time African champions.
Nigeria took the lead late in the first half when Rasheedat Ajibade calmly converted from the penalty spot. South Africa responded in the 60th minute through Linda Motlhalo, who also scored from the spot to level the score.
But just when the match seemed destined for extra time, Nigerian defender Michelle Alozie sealed the victory with a stunning long-range strike deep into stoppage time.
