Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Mamadou Sarr from French club RC Strasbourg, with the highly rated defender putting pen to paper on a long-term deal running until 2033.
The 19-year-old impressed during the 2024/25 season, making 28 appearances in all competitions and playing a vital role in Strasbourg’s campaign, which culminated in qualification for the UEFA Conference League play-offs.
Sarr, a France Under-20 international, joined Strasbourg in August 2024 and quickly became a fixture in the starting lineup. He made 27 Ligue 1 starts, helping the club achieve a solid seventh-place finish in the French top flight.
His move to Chelsea marks a significant addition to the Premier League club’s defensive options, as they continue to invest in young talent for the future.
