Zamfara Head of Service praises Gov Lawal for achievements and commitment to workers’ welfare

The Zamfara State Head of Service, Yakubu Sani Haidara (mni), has commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his unwavering dedication to public service and the well-being of workers across the state.

Speaking to journalists in Gusau on Thursday, Haidara described Governor Lawal as a compassionate and results-driven leader who has placed a high premium on improving the lives of both civil servants and the general populace of Zamfara.

He outlined key achievements of the administration, including the prompt and consistent payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities, along with significant infrastructure development projects ongoing across the state.

Haidara revealed that in less than two years in office, Governor Lawal has cleared outstanding pension and gratuity arrears totaling N13 billion, providing relief to numerous retired civil servants.

The Head of Service also lauded the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for all workers, including those at the local government level. In addition, the administration has introduced incentives and allowances aimed at boosting staff morale and enhancing productivity.

He noted that the government has rolled out a series of training and retraining programmes for civil servants at all levels, designed to sharpen their skills and align with ongoing civil service reforms and modern administrative practices.

Addressing concerns about staff verification, reverification, and redeployment exercises, Haidara assured that the government is actively working to resolve all outstanding issues to ensure fairness and efficiency in public service management.

He encouraged civil servants to remain patient, committed, and supportive, urging them to reciprocate the government’s efforts by redoubling their dedication to duty and contributing meaningfully to Zamfara State’s socio-economic growth and development.
