Xi Urges Egypt to Join Push for Middle East Security

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for deeper cooperation between China and Egypt, urging both countries to strengthen their strategic partnership and support each other amid growing regional and international challenges.

Xi made the call during talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as the two leaders marked 70 years of diplomatic relations.

Xi urged expanded cooperation in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, communications technology and emerging sectors including green energy, electric vehicles, aerospace and the digital economy.

The two leaders also witnessed the signing of more than 20 cooperation agreements covering artificial intelligence, trade, industry, science and technology, education and transportation.

On Middle East security, Xi proposed a new regional security architecture based on dialogue, development and respect for sovereignty, with the Palestinian issue remaining central to efforts to resolve regional conflicts.

Sisi welcomed the proposal, saying Egypt is ready to strengthen coordination with China to ease tensions, promote stability and advance regional security.
