Wikki Tourists Cruise Into GusauAhlan Semis With Convincing 3–0 Win Over Niger Tornadoes

Wikki Tourists delivered a commanding performance at the Lafia Township Stadium, dispatching Niger Tornadoes 3–0 to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the 2025 GusauAhlan Preseason Tournament.
The Pride of Bauchi wasted no time asserting their dominance, breaking the deadlock in just the sixth minute. Sadiq Abdullahi opened the scoring after expertly finishing a well-timed pass from John Taiwo.
The lead was doubled shortly after when the Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper brought down a Wikki attacker inside the box. Dickson Ironsi stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to make it 2–0.
Wikki Tourists continued to dictate the pace, showcasing slick passing and a well-organized backline that effectively neutralized any threat from the Tornadoes.
In the second half, Head Coach Abdu Maikaba made a series of tactical substitutions to give other squad members valuable playing time. One of those changes paid off in the 75th minute, as substitute Ahmed Abubakar Lamido found the net with a composed finish to seal the win.
Following the match, Coach Maikaba highlighted the importance of the preseason tournament in refining tactics and evaluating squad depth. Midfielder Klinshak Longbak, who impressed throughout the game, was named Man of the Match and received his award from former Wikki Technical Adviser, Azeez Audu Mohammed.
