The push for a greener and more sustainable African economy will take centre stage as stakeholders converge in Lagos for the 2026 West Africa Sustainability Summit and Awards.
The summit, organised by Sustainable Report Africa Media Limited, is scheduled for October 2 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island.
With the theme, “Accelerating Africa’s Green Transition, People, Planet & Prosperity”, the event will bring together policymakers, business leaders, investors and other stakeholders to examine the link between environmental sustainability, social inclusion and economic growth.
Discussions will focus on climate finance, green investment, ESG and corporate accountability, sustainable agriculture, youth and gender inclusion, as well as policies driving the green economy.
Participants will also examine opportunities in renewable energy, carbon markets, biodiversity, digital technology and sustainable business practices.
A major highlight of the summit will be the West African Sustainability Awards, which will recognise individuals and organisations for their contributions to environmental, social and governance outcomes.
Organisers say the summit will provide a platform to explore how climate finance, private-sector investment, effective policies and technology can accelerate Africa’s green transition while supporting broader economic development.
