Troops arrest alleged killer of Dorathy Jonathan in Southern Kaduna

Troops of Operation Safe Haven have arrested the alleged killer of one Dorathy Jonathan in the Southern Kaduna area of Kaduna State.

According to the army, Deborah was murdered on Friday, September 1, 2023, in cold blood while fetching firewood at Afana village in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

This was revealed in a tweet via the Nigerian Army’s handle, @HQNigerianArmy, on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

The army said the alleged killer, Lot Dauda, who confessed to committing the crime, alongside an accomplice (name withheld), now at large, was arrested through a manhunt launched by troops of OPSH.

The arrest was made based on credible intelligence obtained after which the troops immediately swung into action.

Dauda narrated that he approached the victim while working on farmland and wanted to get intimate forcefully with her.

He said she put up a struggle with him, which led to her gruesome murder.

The army said efforts are ongoing to arrest Dauda’s accomplice while the arrested suspect would be charged in court once the investigation is completed.
