Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, has assured citizens in Rwanda that his administration remains committed to creating opportunities for citizens at home and abroad to achieve their goals and contribute to national development.
He gave the assurance during an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community in Kigali, where he met professionals, academics, entrepreneurs and students. Tinubu said his government is focused on removing barriers limiting citizens’ potential while continuing reforms aimed at improving the economy and social welfare.
Tinubu praised Nigerians in Rwanda for their contributions across various sectors and urged diaspora citizens to promote unity and avoid ethnic divisions. He also said his administration is working to ensure equal opportunity for all Nigerians and directed relevant agencies to address consular challenges, including passport-related issues.
Officials of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission said the delegation included professionals and academics, while members of the community raised concerns over consular services, especially the absence of a passport office in Kigali.
