Super Eagles Star Terem Moffi Among Nice Players Attacked by Fans After 3-1 Defeat to Lorient

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi was among several Nice players reportedly assaulted by their own supporters following a 3-1 defeat to Lorient.

According to ESPN, the incident occurred on Sunday night as the team returned from the game. Approximately 400 Ultras were waiting at the club’s training ground and attacked the players as they stepped off the bus.

Moffi, who was subjected to hair-pulling and kicks, has been placed on one week of sick leave, while teammate Jonathan Boga will be out for five days. Both players visited local police on Monday to file formal complaints against the alleged attackers.

In response, Nice released an official statement condemning the incident, stating: “The excesses we saw during this gathering are unacceptable” and emphasizing that the club “condemns these acts with the highest toughness.”

The defeat in Brittany marked Nice’s sixth consecutive loss across all competitions, intensifying pressure on the team and management.
