Nurudeen Aweroro has been appointed as the new head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).
Aweroro joins the Oluyole Warriors from Ikorodu City, following the recent dismissal of former head coach Gbenga Ogunbote by the club’s newly constituted management. The young coach impressed last season by leading Ikorodu City to a commendable fourth-place finish in their debut NPFL campaign. He had taken over from Bright Ozebagbe midway through the season.
Aweroro’s backroom staff have already resumed duties with Shooting Stars, and the coach is expected to be officially unveiled at the club’s secretariat in Jericho, Ibadan, on Friday.
