Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has removed his social media posts concerning celebrity chef Hilda Baci, hours after she threatened to take legal action over what she described as defamatory remarks.
The development follows a formal warning issued to the singer by Hilda, who demanded that he take down the posts and publicly apologise or face a lawsuit.
A check of Seyi Vibez’s social media account after the warning showed that the posts had been deleted. However, the singer had not issued the public apology requested by Hilda as of the time of the report.
The dispute arose after Seyi Vibez mentioned Hilda while airing grievances connected to his former record label, Dapper Music, and allegations involving about N1 billion in missing catalogue funds.
Hilda became involved in the dispute because she is the partner of Damilola Akinwunmi, the owner of Dapper Music.
Seyi Vibez joined Dapper Music in 2022 before ending his relationship with the label in September 2024.
Following his departure, the singer changed his social media bio to describe himself as an “Independent artist.”
The latest development marks a de-escalation on social media, although Hilda’s demand for a public apology remains unresolved.
