Rwanda Set to Arrive in Uyo Ahead of Key World Cup Qualifier Against Nigeria

The Rwandan national team is scheduled to arrive in Uyo on Wednesday, September 3, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying Group C clash with Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Rwanda’s head coach, Adel Amrouche, is expected to unveil his squad list for the match later this week. The encounter is slated to take place on Saturday, September 6, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The last time the Amavubi played on Nigerian soil, they stunned the Super Eagles with a 2-1 win during a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the same venue.

However, Nigeria will go into this upcoming fixture with a psychological edge, having defeated Rwanda 2-0 in their most recent meeting at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali last March.

With qualification for the 2026 World Cup at stake, the Super Eagles are under pressure to secure all three points to keep their campaign on track.
