Portable Survives Car Accident Ahead of Son’s Naming Ceremony
Controversial Nigerian street-pop artiste Portable has revealed that he survived a car accident on Thursday night, just hours before the naming ceremony of his newborn child.
The incident reportedly occurred in Ogun State while the singer was making preparations for the family event.
According to Portable, the accident happened after the vehicle he was driving developed brake failure. To avoid crashing into another car, he said he intentionally steered the vehicle into a ditch.
In a video shared on his Instagram story, the singer thanked God for surviving the incident without injuries.
“Nothing do me oo, I came out unhurt. I suddenly realized that the car had failed brake,” he said.
Portable added that people gathered at the scene shortly after the accident and expressed gratitude that the situation did not become fatal.
The singer also disclosed that preparations for his son’s naming ceremony were already underway, including the purchase of two cows for the celebration.
The development comes days after Portable and his wife, Bewaji, welcomed their newborn child. The singer had earlier distributed free Ankara aso ebi materials ahead of the ceremony.
The birth reportedly coincided with Portable’s celebrity boxing appearance involving Carter Efe earlier this month.
