Lazio winger Pedro has named Barcelona’s Pedri as his top pick for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, choosing him over other high-profile contenders such as Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembélé.
The former Chelsea forward stated that he would award the maximum score to the Barcelona midfielder in this year’s Ballon d’Or voting, placing him ahead of all other nominees.
Pedri enjoyed an outstanding 2024/25 campaign with Barcelona, establishing himself as a leading candidate for football’s most prestigious individual award.
The Spain international is set to face stiff competition from players including Dembélé, Yamal, Raphinha, Mohamed Salah, and others for the coveted prize.
In an interview with El Día de Tenerife (as cited by Barca Blaugranes), Pedro said: “Of course I’d give Pedri the maximum score. Then Lamine Yamal. And perhaps other candidates who are there are Dembélé or Raphinha, but I’d love for Pedri to win.
“For me there is no doubt: he’s the best in his position in the entire world.”
