The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as its National Secretary, following a high-level engagement with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday.
The decision comes amid ongoing efforts by the party to stabilize its leadership structure and resolve internal disputes ahead of critical political engagements. Party insiders suggest the move is part of a broader reconciliation strategy aimed at strengthening the PDP’s national outlook.
In a related development, the party has suspended its previously scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting slated for June 30, 2025.
Instead, an expanded caucus meeting will now take place in its place — a strategic shift that sources say is designed to accommodate broader consultations and de-escalate factional tensions.
Party spokespersons have yet to disclose the full agenda for the upcoming caucus session, but analysts view the developments as signs of the PDP recalibrating its internal machinery in preparation for future electoral contests.
Further announcements on PDP leadership and structural reforms are expected in the coming days.
