‘Oversabi Aunty’ Tops N1.08bn, Cementing FilmOne–Toyin Abraham Box Office Dominance

FilmOne Studios has reached a new commercial high with Oversabi Aunty, the latest feature from actress and producer Toyin Abraham.
The film has grossed N1,081,177,001 at the Nigerian box office, pushing it beyond the N1 billion threshold and placing it among Nollywood’s highest-earning cinema releases.
Industry observers say the result reflects the growing commercial strength of the creative partnership between FilmOne and Abraham. The collaboration has consistently delivered strong theatrical returns, reinforcing audience confidence in their projects.
Earlier in 2025, Alakada Bad and Boujee, co-produced by FilmOne Studios, generated over N500 million in ticket sales nationwide. With Oversabi Aunty now doubling that benchmark, the company has recorded significant back-to-back growth in box office performance.
Group CEO of Filmhouse Group, Kene Okwuosa, described the achievement as more than a revenue figure. In a statement, he said the jump from N500 million to N1 billion across consecutive years signals expanding audience reach and the benefits of sustained creative collaboration.
He added that the film’s performance demonstrates the strength of FilmOne’s vertically integrated structure, which spans production, distribution and exhibition.
Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Entertainment, Ladun Awobokun, also credited disciplined execution and coordinated teamwork for the milestone. According to her, the upward trajectory underscores both market confidence and belief in the talent driving the projects.
With Oversabi Aunty surpassing the billion-naira mark, FilmOne and Toyin Abraham have further solidified their standing in Nigeria’s competitive cinema landscape, setting a new commercial benchmark for future releases.
