Nigeria’s unity under attack from terrorists, separatists – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has identified terrorism, insurgency, banditry, and separatist movements as serious existential threats to Nigeria’s unity and stability, stressing that such challenges must no longer be treated as mere disturbances.

In a strong directive to the Nigerian Armed Forces and security agencies, the President ordered a decisive and relentless crackdown on all elements threatening the peace and unity of the country.

Delivering the President’s message at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration held at Murtala Square in Kaduna on Sunday, Vice President Kashim Shettima reaffirmed the administration’s firm commitment to national security.

“To the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, I say this with absolute clarity: the time to rise is now,” the President declared.

Tinubu assured the military of his administration’s unwavering support, including continuous investment in advanced weaponry, intelligence gathering, and personnel development, to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty.

He paid heartfelt tribute to fallen heroes and wounded soldiers, pledging that their courage and sacrifices would never be forgotten. He also commended the vital role of military families, particularly the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association and the Nigerian Army Soldiers’ Wives Association, in boosting the morale of troops and maintaining strength on the home front.
