One Dead, 13 Injured in Kebbi Road Crash Involving UDUS Students
Students were returning to Sokoto from Ilorin when the crash occurred near Yauri, claiming their driver’s life
A tragic accident along the Yauri–Birnin Kebbi road in Kebbi State has left one person dead and 13 others injured. The victims were students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), returning from Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday when the vehicle they were traveling in crashed.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred near Yauri. The driver died instantly, while all 13 students sustained varying degrees of injuries. Eight of the students reportedly suffered bone fractures. Five are currently receiving treatment at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement, but the incident has raised fresh concerns over road safety on major inter-state routes.
