
The newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has approved a major reshuffle involving senior officers across the Nigerian Army.
According to a statement by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Appolonia Anele, the redeployments aim to strengthen leadership, enhance command efficiency, and boost ongoing operations. The changes take immediate effect.
Key appointments include Major General Olatokumbo Bello as Director, Defence Media Operations; Brigadier General Samaila Uba as Director, Defence Information; and Major General Bamidele Alabi as Chief of Policy and Plans (Army).
Others are Major General Jamal Abdulsalam as Chief of Defence Operations, Major General Peter Mala as Commander, TRADOC, and Major General Samson Jiya as Chief of Defence Accounts and Budget.
Further appointments include Major General Mayirenso Saraso as Chief of Operations (Army), Major General Isa Abdullahi as Chief of Administration (Army), and Major General Musa Etsu-Ndagi as Chief of Civil-Military Affairs.
Several officers were also named Corps Commanders: Major General Godwin Mutkut (Infantry), Major General Umar Abubakar (Armour), Major General John Adeyemo (Artillery), Major General Mohammed Abdullahi (Signals), Major General Adeyinka Adereti (Electrical & Mechanical Engineers), and Major General Nansak Shagaya (Supply & Transport).
Command appointments include Major General Oluyemi Olatoye as Commandant, NDA Kaduna; Major General Emmanuel Mustapha (Signal School); Major General Adamu Hassan (School of Artillery); and Brigadier General John Bulus (School of Finance and Accounts).
Field commanders include Major General Saidu Audu (MNJTF, N’Djamena), Major General Warrah Idris (Operation FANSAN YAMMA, North West), and Major General Oluremi Fadairo (82 Division/Operation UDO KA, South East).
Lt. Gen. Shaibu charged the newly appointed officers to demonstrate professionalism, uphold Army values, and sustain operational momentum in tackling emerging security challenges.
