Nigerian media personality and actress Nancy Isime has issued a public warning over individuals allegedly using her name to negotiate business deals and professional engagements without her approval.
Isime raised the alarm in a notice shared on her Instagram page, saying she had become aware of people claiming to represent her interests without obtaining her consent.
She said the statement was intended to remove any uncertainty over who has the authority to negotiate or enter into agreements on her behalf.
“My attention has been drawn to instances of certain persons purporting to act, negotiate or otherwise represent my interests without authority,” she stated.
Isime cautions brands, agencies
The media personality specifically urged brands, agencies, corporate organisations, media houses, event organisers, producers and other business associates to be cautious of anyone claiming to act as her representative without direct authorisation.
She stressed that no individual or organisation has the right to negotiate contracts, make commitments or conduct transactions on her behalf unless she has expressly granted such authority.
“All persons and organisations intending to engage with me are therefore advised to verify the authority of any person purporting to act on my behalf before entering any arrangement or making any payment in connection with my professional or commercial engagements,” she said.

The actress also warned that unauthorised transactions carried out using her identity could attract legal action.
She said she reserved her legal rights and remedies against anyone found to have represented her without permission or entered into dealings purportedly on her behalf.
The notice serves as a caution to individuals and organisations seeking to work with Isime to verify the identity and authority of anyone claiming to represent her before proceeding with contracts, negotiations or payments.
