Mbachu Backs Super Falcons to Clinch 10th WAFCON Title Unbeaten

Former Nigerian striker Stella Mbachu believes the Super Falcons have what it takes to claim a record-extending 10th title at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Nigerian team, led by coach Justine Madugu, is considered one of the top contenders for the title alongside reigning champions South Africa, host nation Morocco, Zambia, and Ghana.
Demonstrating their preparedness, the Super Falcons delivered an impressive 3-1 victory over the Black Queens of Ghana in a friendly match on Sunday. Prior to that, they secured a goalless draw against Portugal in Lisbon, signaling strong form heading into the tournament.
Mbachu is fully confident in the team’s ability to go all the way in Morocco. “The Super Falcons will win every game at WAFCON. They won’t lose a single match throughout the tournament—you’ll see. They will return home with the trophy,” she said in an interview with Brila FM.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group B and will face Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria in the group stage of WAFCON 2024. Their campaign kicks off on Sunday in Casablanca with a clash against Tunisia.
