Maikaba Pleased with Wikki Tourists’ Opening Win Over Plateau United

Wikki Tourists manager Abdu Maikaba has voiced his approval of his squad’s display in their season-opening fixture against Plateau United.
The Bauchi-based side secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the matchday one clash, held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium. The decisive moment came just before halftime, when newly acquired forward Louis Dadong netted the game’s only goal in the 41st minute.
Reflecting on the match, Maikaba noted that the margin of victory could have been wider, citing moments where the team lacked tactical sharpness.
“I’m happy with the result and the performance of my players. The scoreline could have been different, but for some tactical lapses,” Maikaba told the club’s media.
“I believe we will go far when the team fully blends, as some players have only been with us for ten days.”
Wikki Tourists are set to continue their campaign with a fixture against Kano Pillars in their next outing.
