Liverpool Eye Osimhen as Nunez Exit Rumors Intensify – Pete O’Rourke

Respected British journalist Pete O’Rourke has provided a fresh update on the potential transfer of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, indicating that Liverpool remains a serious contender for his signature.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke revealed that Osimhen is attracting interest from several European clubs, with Liverpool reportedly monitoring the Nigerian forward closely. This renewed interest follows the collapse of a proposed move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal earlier this summer.

“Victor Osimhen is going into his final year at Napoli,” O’Rourke said. “Galatasaray would love to sign him on a permanent basis if possible, and Napoli would prefer to cash in rather than let him run down his contract.”

He further noted that Al-Hilal made multiple bids for Osimhen, but the 26-year-old appears to favor staying in Europe over a move to the Middle East.

With speculation mounting around Darwin Nunez’s possible departure from Anfield this summer, O’Rourke suggested that Liverpool sees Osimhen as a viable replacement option. “Liverpool have been linked with Osimhen as a potential target, especially if Darwin Nunez was to leave this summer—which seems more and more likely,” he added.
