The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Cornelius Ojelabi, has urged party members in the East Senatorial District to set aside their differences and work collectively to secure victory in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12.
Ojelabi made the call on Saturday at the APC Lagos East Mega Rally themed “One Voice, One Vision, One Victory,” held in Ikorodu.
Acknowledging tensions that arose following the recent party primaries, Ojelabi stressed the need for unity, saying the party must present a united front to retain its dominance in the state.
He also pledged that loyal and committed members who contribute meaningfully to the party’s success would be duly rewarded.
“If you work for the success of the party, the leadership in your local government is taking note, and I assure you that you will be adequately rewarded,” Ojelabi said. “If we work together as one big family, no political party in Lagos State can defeat us. The APC is the only party with structures in all 376 wards across the state.”
Highlighting the APC’s consistent leadership in Lagos since 1999, the chairman urged members to rally behind the party’s candidates in the interest of continued development and stability.
Ojelabi further announced the formation of a mobilisation committee to begin outreach efforts from Monday. The committee will engage key demographics, including youths, women, and community groups, to bolster grassroots support ahead of the elections.
The chairman urged party members to showcase the achievements of President Bola Tinubu at the federal level, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the state level, and Senator Adetokunbo Abiru to the electorate. He emphasized that voting for the APC would help consolidate these accomplishments and sustain ongoing development efforts.
