Kepa Arrizabalaga Joins Arsenal from Chelsea in £5m Move

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has made a surprise switch to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Gunners triggered the Spaniard’s modest £5 million release clause to secure his services as a backup to current first-choice goalkeeper David Raya.

Kepa becomes the second Spanish player to join Arsenal this summer, following the arrival of midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and was widely expected to leave Chelsea on a permanent deal.

Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move on X, stating:
“Kepa to Arsenal, here we go! Deal done for the Spanish goalkeeper to join #AFC as new backup for David Raya. Arsenal activate £5m clause from Chelsea and all documents are now sealed. One more addition for Arteta after Martin Zubimendi.”
