Kelechi Nwakali Set for Barnsley Exit Following Disciplinary Setback

Midfielder Kelechi Nwakali is on his way out of Barnsley during the current transfer window, as disclosed by the club’s head coach, Conor Hourihane.
Hourihane confirmed that the League One side has decided to part ways with the Nigerian international.
The 26-year-old has not featured for Barnsley since his delayed return from a break in Nigeria, a situation that led to his exclusion from training with the first team.
Following the disciplinary breach, Nwakali has missed several matches, including fixtures against Plymouth Argyle, Burton Albion, Fleetwood Town, and Bolton Wanderers.
Issues related to discipline have appeared to be a recurring obstacle in Nwakali’s professional journey. He was previously released by Spanish club Huesca over a comparable incident.
“Obviously there’s a couple of weeks to go in the window. Let’s see where it takes us,” Hourihane said.
When asked specifically about Nwakali’s status, he responded directly: “Yes, that’s the plan.”
