Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested several suspected members of a terrorist network and intercepted a consignment of ammunition in separate operations across Kaduna State.
The operations, conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, covered Kubau, Igabi and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas.
In Kubau, troops of Sector 1 carried out a clearance operation in Dabar Dabo, identified as a suspected terrorist hideout, where they arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other alleged members of his syndicate.
The suspects were subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation in Igabi, troops acting on intelligence about the movement of terrorist ammunition arrested a 50-year-old woman allegedly serving as an ammunition courier.
The military said 300 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspect after they were allegedly concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the woman had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition remain in military custody as investigations continue.
Later the same day, troops of Sector 1, working alongside a community vigilante group, arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari.
A subsequent interrogation and search led to the recovery of four communication devices allegedly linked to terrorist activities.
The suspect and recovered items have also been handed over for further investigation.
The military said the operations reflect its continued efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt the movement of criminal elements and block the flow of arms, ammunition and other logistical supplies across the North West.
The Joint Task Force commended residents for their cooperation and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
