Nigerian content creator Elizabeth Amadou, popularly known as Jarvis, has opened up about the difficult circumstances that shaped her childhood and influenced her eventual career in content creation.
Jarvis shared details of her upbringing during a recent appearance with her husband, Peller, at a Sunday service hosted by Spark Nation founder Pastor Tobi in the United Kingdom.
The social media personality said she was largely raised by her grandparents and described her early years as a difficult period for her family.
She also spoke about her mother’s bipolar disorder, explaining that the condition sometimes affected her mother’s behaviour and created an unpredictable home environment.
Struggles with school fees and food
Jarvis further revealed that she grew up without her father and experienced periods of serious financial hardship.
According to the content creator, there were times when her family struggled to pay her school fees and even afford food.
Despite the difficulties, she said she remained focused on completing her education and was determined to avoid negative influences while searching for a way to improve her financial circumstances.
Her experiences, she explained, strengthened her desire to become financially independent and support those close to her.
How TikTok changed her path
Jarvis said her entry into content creation came after she discovered that TikTok livestreaming could provide an avenue to make money.
She initially began creating content alongside her sister. Although their first earnings were modest, the income gave them enough encouragement to continue exploring the platform.
What started primarily as an attempt to generate an income gradually developed into a career in livestreaming and digital content.
Jarvis said the desire to provide for herself and her sister remained one of the major forces behind her persistence.
