Iyabo Ojo: ‘I Have No Regrets’ Over Activism Despite Family Attacks

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has spoken out against what she described as persistent online attacks targeting her family, insisting that she has no regrets about her activism.

In a lengthy statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, the actress urged social media users to be more critical of allegations made online, particularly when those making the claims fail to provide evidence.

“Anyone who alleges must prove. No one is above the law. Don’t be deceived. The law and justice will take their full course,” she wrote.

Ojo also criticised what she described as online manipulation, questioning the practice of making claims while simply telling audiences that evidence exists without actually presenting it.

“It’s 2026. Please stop believing anyone who comes online to manipulate grown adults like you… Saying ‘I have proof, I have evidence’ without ever showing or posting the evidence for you to verify for yourself,” she said.

The actress stressed that her public life has never been limited to her career in entertainment, saying activism has been an important part of her identity.

“I have never been just an ordinary actress or celebrity,” Ojo said.

She maintained that she does not regret supporting causes and people she has previously fought for, despite the backlash that has followed.

“I have NO regrets. I repeat, I have NO regrets helping and fighting for those I fought for. If I had the opportunity to do it again, I would. I just no longer bring it to social media,” she stated.

Ojo attributed what she described as the latest attacks on her family to her activism, saying she believes she has remained on the right path.

“All this noise these miscreants call ‘attacks’ is a result of my activism. And I honestly have no regrets because I have stood on the right path,” she wrote.

The actress also pointed to her faith as a source of confidence, saying she remains convinced that neither she nor her children can have their stories rewritten by those seeking to defame or manipulate them.

Addressing supporters who had expressed concern, Ojo said her family was doing well despite the criticism.

“To all those- our amazing fans and loved ones who are truly worried- please be at peace. God is in control,” she said.

She also rejected claims that she would knowingly publish false information on social media, insisting that anything her family posts publicly can be independently verified.

“Please let me be very clear: There is NO WAY — I repeat, NO WAY — we would ever post anything on social media that is fake,” she stated.

Ojo’s latest comments come amid continued scrutiny of her public statements and activism, with the actress maintaining that she will not be deterred by the criticism directed at her or her family.
