“I Had More Freedom Before Fame” – Bella Shmurda Opens Up About the Pressures of Stardom

Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has opened up about the personal challenges that come with fame, revealing that life was simpler and more liberating before becoming a household name.

In a candid conversation on a recent vlog with Channel Tweety7, the Cash App hitmaker reflected on the emotional toll of stardom, saying that while success has brought financial stability, it has also come at the cost of his personal freedom.

“I blew up at the age of 25. I only enjoy the celebrity lifestyle a little,” he shared. “Before fame, I was freer. I could hang out with my friends without restrictions. But now, it’s like I’m living in a box.”

Bella also spoke about the pressure of being the primary provider for his family, a responsibility he says weighs heavily on him.

“I’m the major breadwinner in my family, and that comes with a lot of pressure. It’s hard. The money has to keep coming—if not, I’m in trouble.”

Despite the challenges, the singer expressed a deep sense of purpose and belief in his journey, saying he always knew success was inevitable for him.

“There’s a feeling you get when you’re destined for something great. You just know, and you don’t stop working. It’s something you feel naturally.”

Bella Shmurda’s reflections offer a rare glimpse into the personal cost of fame—reminding fans that while success may look glamorous from the outside, it often comes with unseen sacrifices behind the scenes.
