The celebrity chef plans to cook in a giant 22,619-litre pot to serve 10,000 people on September 12, 2025.

Nigerian celebrity chef and former Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, is gearing up for another historic culinary feat, this time with jollof rice.
Baci announced on Instagram that she plans to cook 250 bags of basmati rice in a single massive pot to set a new world record for the biggest jollof pot. The attempt will take place on September 12, 2025, and is expected to feed 10,000 people.
According to her, the pot designed for the challenge measures 6 meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and 1.3 meters deep, with a capacity of 22,619 litres. “I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. The pot is not going to sink,” she said confidently in the viral video.
This isn’t Baci’s first brush with global recognition. In 2023, she made headlines worldwide after cooking non-stop for 93 hours and 11 minutes, earning the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
Her latest project has already sparked excitement among fans and food lovers, many of whom are eager to witness another record-breaking moment in Nigerian culinary history.
