Former France international Olivier Giroud, who turns 40 on Wednesday, has revealed that he will “very probably” call time on his playing career after the current season.
The Lille striker became France’s all-time leading scorer at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar before Kylian Mbappe surpassed his record earlier this year.
In an interview with L’Equipe, Giroud said that “as a player, I think it is very probably my last season”.
“That’s why I’m making the most of every moment,” he added.
Giroud has enjoyed a distinguished career, including winning the 2018 World Cup with France.
