
The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with payment technology firm Flutterwave to empower youth and enhance their business skills. The signing ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by the Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; the Permanent Secretary, Olubunmi Olusanya; and other senior officials from the ministry.
This partnership will lead to initiatives that provide young Nigerians with access to training, mentorship, and opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Flutterwave Founder and CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, expressed the company’s commitment to creating sustainable solutions that empower Nigerian youth. He emphasized Flutterwave’s dedication to providing training, fostering partnerships, and creating business opportunities to ensure a long-term economic impact.
Olawande commended Flutterwave for its role in advancing youth-focused initiatives and stressed that this collaboration is a significant step in realizing President Bola Tinubu’s vision for youth empowerment.
He also highlighted the National Youth Service Corps and the Citizenship & Leadership Training Centre as key agencies that will play a central role in implementing the program.
The minister concluded by reaffirming that this partnership with Flutterwave will significantly strengthen the ministry’s efforts to ensure a brighter future for Nigerian youth, positioning them as key drivers of the nation’s economic transformation.
