GovGuideNigeria offers multilingual support via WhatsApp and web, aiming to bridge information gaps and improve public service delivery…..
The Federal Government has introduced an artificial intelligence-powered platform, GovGuideNigeria, designed to make it easier for citizens to access government information and public services across the country.
The initiative was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, who described it as part of ongoing reforms to enhance public service delivery through digital technology and innovation.
According to the minister, the platform is accessible via WhatsApp and the web, and supports multiple languages including English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba to ensure wider reach across Nigeria’s diverse population.
Tijani said GovGuideNigeria provides users with simplified access to information drawn from more than 35 federal ministries and over 60 government agencies, reducing the difficulty many citizens face when trying to navigate public institutions.
He explained that the system is particularly aimed at underserved communities and low-literacy populations, where access to official information has traditionally been limited by language and technical barriers.
“Today, we launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform designed to make access to government information simpler, faster, and more inclusive for every Nigerian,” he said.
The minister added that the platform reflects the government’s intention to ensure that artificial intelligence delivers practical, everyday benefits to citizens rather than remaining a purely experimental technology.
GovGuideNigeria builds on earlier digital innovation efforts by the ministry, including the development of Nigeria’s multilingual artificial intelligence model, N-ATLAS, which was launched two years ago to support local language processing and digital inclusion.
That project was developed through collaboration between Awarritech, DataDotOrg, the National Information Technology Development Agency, and the National Centre for AI and Robotics, with the aim of strengthening Nigeria’s capacity in language-focused AI development.
Tijani noted that the new platform was developed in partnership with the National Centre for AI and Robotics, Meta, and Publica, highlighting the role of collaboration between government, private sector players, and technology innovators in driving public sector digital transformation.
He said such partnerships are essential for building scalable solutions that can improve how citizens interact with government services.
The minister also urged Nigerians to take advantage of the platform, describing it as a practical tool for improving access to critical public information.
The launch comes as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to expand digital infrastructure, promote artificial intelligence adoption, and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy through policy reforms and innovation-driven initiatives.
Officials say the broader goal is to build a more connected public sector system where technology reduces bureaucracy, improves transparency, and enhances citizen engagement across all levels of government.
