Egypt to Rest Salah and Marmoush for Nigeria Friendly

The Pharaohs of Egypt will reportedly rest Premier League stars Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush for tonight’s pre-2025 Africa Cup of Nations friendly against the Super Eagles at the Cairo International Stadium.

According to Filgoal, Head Coach Hossam Hassan will keep the high-profile forwards out of the match to manage their fitness and conserve energy ahead of the AFCON tournament in Morocco.

Late Arrival: Both Salah (Liverpool captain) and Marmoush (Manchester City attacker) linked up with their international teammates late, only arriving in the camp on Monday.

Rest Precaution: The duo did not take part in the team’s training session after their late arrival, prompting Hossam Hassan to prioritize their rest.

Both Salah and Marmoush are expected to play pivotal roles for the Pharaohs as they pursue a record-extending eighth AFCON title in Morocco.

The match, which serves as a final tune-up for both African giants, is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 PM local time in Cairo (7:00 PM WAT in Nigeria).
