Nigeria’s president Goodluck Jonathan recently reportedly phoned the country’s Central Bank Governor, Lamido Sanusi Lamido ordering him to tender his resignation for allegedly leaking a letter to he(Sanusi) wrote to him alleging the non remittance of $49.8billion oil revenue by the NNPC to the country’s federation account. The president reportedly accused the CBN governor of leaking the letter to former president Olusegun Obasanjo. The CBN governor is said to have denied he leaked the letter and bluntly told the president that he was not going to resign. He also said only a two-third majority of the Senate can remove him.
The question therefore we try to explore in this episode of the program me is whether true president indeed does not have the power to remove the CBN governor
