Davido Mocks APC’s Owoeye Over Comment on Gov. Adeleke’s Alleged Defection to Tinubu’s Camp
Afrobeats superstar Davido has taken a jab at former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, over his recent remarks concerning Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
This comes in the wake of heightened political tension surrounding the ongoing local government elections crisis in Osun. Since February 2025, local government allocations in the state have reportedly been withheld due to disputes between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
On Tuesday, Governor Adeleke visited President Tinubu in Lagos, accompanied by his elder brother, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, and Davido. The visit sparked widespread speculation about a possible defection deal between the governor and the president.
Reacting to the rumors, Hon. Owoeye dismissed any possibility of Adeleke or his family joining the APC. Speaking during a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday, he said, “The Adeleke family is not welcome in the APC. There is no space for PDP and Adeleke in our party.”
In response, Davido took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to mock Owoeye, posting:
“No be this guy naked for bush?”
The jab referenced a 2018 viral video in which Owoeye was allegedly caught unclothed while performing ritual activities at night.
