Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has revealed that Afrobeats superstar Davido recently gifted his girlfriend ₦10 million as a gesture of appreciation for her unwavering support during his journey to stardom.
Speaking during a recent interview with Beat 99.9 FM, the “Declan Rice” hitmaker praised Davido not only as a mentor but as a true brother who recognized the crucial role his partner played behind the scenes—particularly in his successful campaign to win the coveted Next Rated award at the 2023 Headies.
“Shout out to Davido—that’s my brother, you know? Just two days ago, he sent ₦10 million to my girlfriend. He did it simply because she’s a real one. She was deeply involved in my campaign for the Next Rated award—she organized stuff, pushed the movement. She really held it down,” Odumodublvck said.
The rapper went on to reflect on a conversation he had with Davido back in 2023, during which the singer predicted that he would eventually clinch the Next Rated title—even though at the time, Odumodublvck had only been nominated for Rookie of the Year.
“There was a time in 2023 when Davido told me I was going to win the Next Rated award. He just had that belief in me. But that year, I was only nominated for Rookie of the Year. And honestly, it worked out because the Next Rated that year belonged to Asake—I wouldn’t have stood a chance,” he admitted.
Despite early setbacks, Odumodublvck said he never felt discouraged or envious, emphasizing that he values the growth that comes from embracing the process rather than rushing success.
“I’ve never felt bad about how things happened. I glorify the process. I love the journey—moving from one stage to the next. Winning hasn’t changed me; if anything, it’s fueled my fire even more.”
