N5,250 minimum investment opens another route for Nigerians seeking a stake in Africa’s major industrial project….
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expanded access to its ongoing Initial Public Offering by allowing prospective investors to subscribe for shares through participating Moniepoint Point-of-Sale agents across Nigeria.
The move is expected to make the offer more accessible to Nigerians, particularly in communities where POS and agency banking outlets have become an important channel for everyday financial transactions.
Under the new arrangement, prospective investors can visit participating Moniepoint agents and complete their Dangote Refinery share subscriptions through the approved process.
The company said the initiative is part of its broader effort to build a widely distributed shareholder base and make ownership of the refinery accessible to more Nigerians.
The shares are being offered at N525 each, with investors required to purchase a minimum of 10 shares, translating to an initial investment of N5,250.
Investors can also make multiple subscriptions during the offer period, giving them the opportunity to increase their holdings progressively.
The company said expanding the subscription network through Moniepoint was a deliberate step towards bringing the capital market closer to Nigerians who may not have easy access to traditional investment channels.
“One of the key objectives of this public offer is to broaden participation and make share ownership accessible to ordinary Nigerians. By leveraging the extensive Moniepoint agent network, we are bringing the opportunity to invest in the Dangote Refinery closer to the people, wherever they may be.”
The company noted that agency banking has played a significant role in expanding financial access across Nigeria, particularly by providing services in communities that have limited access to conventional banking outlets.
It said the same network could now help lower some of the barriers preventing Nigerians from participating directly in the capital market.
The refinery is seeking to use the expanded distribution network to support its ambition of creating one of Africa’s broadest shareholder bases, with millions of Nigerians potentially owning a stake in the business.
For investors subscribing through Moniepoint agents, the company said transactions must be completed through the approved subscription process.
Subscribers are also required to retain their payment receipts as evidence of their transactions, while confirmation of successful subscriptions will be sent through SMS to their registered telephone numbers.
The company advised prospective investors to read the IPO Prospectus carefully before subscribing and to seek guidance from licensed stockbrokers or financial advisers where necessary.
Details of approved subscription channels and the Prospectus are available through the IPO portal.
The expansion of subscription access comes as the Dangote Petroleum Refinery seeks to widen public participation in its ownership, using an agency network already embedded in communities across the country.
With a minimum subscription of N5,250 and access through participating Moniepoint agents, the offer provides another channel through which Nigerians can seek to become shareholders in the refinery.
